      EVENT DETAILS
Gothic Book Club with John Palisano

Ye olde Gothic worms its way into many genres and art forms, from horror to architecture to shoes. The books - old and new - have a lasting allure. Everlasting.   Dracul is a sort of prequel to Dracula, starring Bram Stoker himself - a double-origin story, written by J.D. Barker and Dacre Stoker, (yes, great-grandnephew). Guess it's in the blood.    HOW IT WORKS: All book clubs require a ticket, and include the book, snacks/bevs, and a dedicated moderator - to keep the discussion on track! All clubs meet at The Last Bookstore. You can get your ticket one of two ways: either thru the link on this page (*we'll ship the book to you!) - OR buy your ticket in the store, just look for our book club display (near the book tunnel). *If you choose the on-line option (the one with shipping), please send a mailing addy to larkin.lastbookstore@gmail.com -- Do not try to pick up the book in person.     Author John Palisano has a pair of books with Samhain Publishing, DUST OF THE DEAD, and GHOST HEART. NERVES is available through Bad Moon. STARLIGHT DRIVE: FOUR HALLOWEEN TALES was released in time for Halloween, and his first short fiction collection ALL THAT WITHERS is available from Cycatrix press, celebrating over a decade of short story highlights. NIGHT OF 1,000 BEASTS is now available. He won the Bram Stoker Award© in short fiction in 2016 for “Happy Joe’s Rest Stop”. More short stories have appeared in anthologies from Cemetery Dance, PS Publishing, Independent Legions, DarkFuse, Crystal Lake, Terror Tales, Lovecraft eZine, Horror Library, Bizarro Pulp, Written Backwards, Dark Continents, Big Time Books, McFarland Press, Darkscribe, Dark House, Omnium Gatherum, and more. Non-fiction pieces have appeared in BLUMHOUSE, FANGORIA and DARK DISCOVERIES magazines. He is currently serving as the Vice President of the Horror Writers Association.
