      Description

Los Angeles' Dodger Stadium opened its doors to the public for the first time in 1962. Since then, the venue has welcomed over 125 million fans. Dodger Stadium features a seating capacity of 56,000 and has without doubt, one of, if not the best playing fields in Major League Baseball. Over the years, the venue has maintained its popularity, and is now considered to be one of Southern California's most loved landmarks. While the Los Angeles once also called Dodger Stadium 'home', the venue has been home to the MLB's Los Angeles, or L.A. Dodgers exclusively, since 1965. The venue has played host to eight World Series, 1984's Olympic Games Baseball competition, and was also the chosen location for the Opening Ceremonies for the United States Olympic Festival in 1991.Its impressive capacity and highly accessible location close to downtown Los Angeles also make Dodger Stadium a venue of choice when it comes to large-scale entertainment events, including, but not limited to those of a sporting variety. Many of the biggest names in music have performed concerts here. Madonna, The Beatles, Elton John, The Rolling Stones, KISS, Michael Jackson and U2 are just a few of those featured on the schedule over the years. In 1987, Pope John Paul II celebrated mass at Dodger Stadium. The venue has also appeared in numerous movies, including Better Off Dead, The Fast and the Furious, Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, and the first Naked Gun movie.
