      BOOK CHRISTIAN LOPEZ TO SPEAK

Christian is a former professional athlete, the eldest of Cuban immigrant parents who made a home in Miami, Florida where he grew up. Being raised in a Latino household and spending much of his life in a sports environment, Christian was taught that as a man you have to be tough and handle everything life and sports throws at you with strength, never exposing your weakness, never getting emotional. When his sports career came to an end, he felt the weakest he’s ever felt. Struggling to find his identity and his purpose in life. Through much reflection and self-inquiry, he has embarked on a life-long journey of growth and self-development that has led him to the worlds of life coaching and motivational speaking. Through his mentoring, coaching and speaking, he has realized that it isn’t your fears, failures and insecurities that define you, but how you face these negative thoughts and limiting beliefs that really define your life and who you really are. Christian is on a mission to challenge others to dig deep, tap into their full potential, find out who they really are and bring that truth to the world with courage, honesty and vulnerability. Speaking Topics:   1. Shame: We all have those voices within that whisper “Who do you think you are? You’re not good enough to do that! People are going to laugh at you when you fail.” These limiting beliefs—not the things that happen outside of us—are what hold us back the most in life. We must learn to figure out where these beliefs stem from and ask ourselves if they are true, or if they are irrational thoughts from our ego trying to keep us safe and pain-free. I believe if we can do some deep work to figure out these feelings of shame and why we have them, we can begin to tap into parts of ourselves that we’ve hidden away for so long because we believed they were never good enough. If we believe we are good enough, well then the sky’s the limit.   2. Confidence I used to believe confidence was something you either had or you didn’t. I believed it was something you were born with and couldn’t cultivate. I was wrong. Confidence is something that you build not just through your successes, but through your failures. My first day on the baseball field, I got my two front teeth knocked out by a line drive. I wasn’t confident then or confident for a long time after. I built that confidence through constant repetition and missed line drive after missed line drive until one day, I could catch a baseball as simply as I took a breath. If you don’t feel confident, that’s okay, nobody feels truly confident the first time they attempt anything new. But, you better believe that you can build confidence in any endeavor you undertake.   3. What It Really Means To Be A Man   As men in this world, we’re taught from an early how a man is “supposed” to think, speak and act. We don’t cry. We don’t talk about our feelings. We suppress our emotions. We don’t ask for directions if we’re lost. We don’t reach out for help. We just suck it up and deal with it. I believe all these things we’re taught are what lead to the violence, disrespect, aggression and mental health issues that many men face, and they all stem from deep fears and insecurities that are cultivated through this culture that says men don’t expose these fears and insecurities. I’m on a mission to give men the permission and the courage to talk about these deep feelings and relinquish the guilt and shame that it holds over them in order to live their lives truly as themselves and not have to hide behind a mask of “manliness” for the rest of their lives.   Speaking Availability:   Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday: Evenings Thursday, Friday: Mornings Weekends: Any time With enough advanced notice, it is possible that I can make any time or day happen.
