      BOOK DOT CANNON TO SPEAK

Hire Dot for a fun look at the ways art is science, and science is art! Did you know that S.T.E.A.M. (science, technology, engineering, art and math) can amplify your message? Dot Cannon is an Advanced Communicator Bronze, President of Two Maverix® Multimedia, in Long Beach, and the host/producer of the weekly interview podcast, “Over Coffee®”, which explores creativity at the intersection of art and science. She is also a professional broadcaster, with a background in Southern California talk radio. Dot was the classic “arts person” who saw subjects like science and math as something to be endured—until she fell in love with broadcasting and began to understand the ways in which art is science, and science is art.   Her presentations focus on the ways science, technology, engineering and math relate to the arts, and to our lives.   Speaking Topics:   1. “Creativity: the S.T.E.A.M. Equation” If you’re an “arts person”, how can the subjects that may have been your least favorite in school--math, science, and technology—take your creative skills to the next level? Podcasting, robotics and design all have an answer for this!   2. “How to Start (and Continue!) Your Podcast” Everyone seems to have a podcast today! But what does it take to get started, to stand out, and to continue? What can you expect, for a workflow, and what are some of the tips to keep going? In this workshop you’ll learn the first steps to take, and what comes next.   3. “Not A-mews-ing” A tongue-in-cheek look at the reasons we’re all so connected to our felines!   Designed as an entertaining presentation for those of us who are “crazy cat people”, this talk also explores some of the psychology behind our relationship with those who had us at “meow”.   Speaking Availability: Weekdays through June 10th, and after August 29th,, 2019 Contact Dot Cannon at twomaverix@gmail.com.
