      Legendary KPFK 90.7fm 60TH Anniversary Gala Benefit - Sept. 7th

      A FESTIVE EVENING OF PHILANTHROPY, MUSIC & INSPIRATION

      Legendary KPFK 90.7fm to celebrate 60th Anniversary with a Red Carpet Gala on September 7 at the Skirball Center with an evening of philanthropy, inspiration and festivities. Proceeds from the gala will help ensure that KPFK continues to provide thought-provoking, innovative, and community-based programming and maintain their dedicated mission of being a voice for the voiceless.

      Keynote Speaker: Host of Democracy Now! Amy Goodman; Richard Montoya of Culture Clash will emcee the event with Celebrity AuctioneerJack Black actor, comedian, musician, songwriter and two-time Golden Globe nominee. Musical Director: legendary producer and musician Don Was, with performances by David Bowie’s longtime pianist, Mike Garson; original founding members of The Doors, drummer, John Densmore and guitarist, Robby Krieger; virtuoso violinist Lili Hadyn; bassist extraordinaire, Stanley Clarke; and the folksy melodic trio, The Haden Triplets.

      Special guests include: host of “Rising Up”, Sonali Kolhatkar; host of“Background Briefing”, Ian Masters; executive director of the PacificaFoundation, Maxie Jackson; host of the “Jimmy Dore Show”, Jimmy Dore; and Stephanie Miller, host of the “Stephanie Miller Show", Freyo Rojo, host of "Nuestra Vox"; Pamela Anchange, founder of "The Immigrant Magazine" and Lisa Garr, host of The Aware Show".

      Honorees include: host of “Connect the Dots”, Lila Garrett; host of “Something’s Happening” Roy of Hollywood; and host o“Halfway Down theStairs”, Uncle Ruthie. Influential peace and justice activist and former host of “World Focus”, and posthumously honoring Blase Bonpane, former host of“Strategy Session”, Antonio Gonzalez, and former host of “Digital Village”. Many more musical performers, special guests and honorees to be announced.
