Get your tie dye on and your peace signs-- authors Abigail Yasgur and Joseph Lipner, along with illustrator Barbara Mendes will share the tale of Max Said Yes! The Woodstock Story.  Discuss if you think there could be another Woodstock? Were you at Woodstock?  The authors will also share the verses they left on the cutting room floor as they would have been a bit risque for a family audience!   Max Said Yes! The Woodstock Story is a vibrant and award-winning children's picture book that shares the tale of dairy farmer Max Yasgur and how he came to open his 600 acre dairy farm to half a million people in August 1969. The book is written in verse with vibrant illustrations shares the positive message of saying "yes" and creating a space of 3 days of music and peace  in August 1969.   Abigail Yasgur is cousin of dairy farmer, Max Yasgur. She works for a non-profit that does sacred work in Los Angeles county, and she is an artist creating beautiful things for the world.  Joseph Lipner, Abigail's husband, is a judge and writer. Illustrator Barbara Mendes was known as "Willly" Mendes in her Underground Comix days. She has a gallery and studio in Los Angeles All events are subject to cancellation, so please check back.
