      We are back and excited to announce the second FREE Introduction to Data Analytics workshop will be held on September 28th (Saturday) from 9:30 am to 5 pm at California State University Los Angeles, 5154 State University Dr, Los Angeles 90032. The workshop is a hands-on, introduction to data analytics and BI and is open to women from all professional/ educational backgrounds who have no prior experience in data and tech! You will learn  how data is stored and managed with a hands on SQL session build an app in 30 mins starting with an Excel file and using the Mendix platform create and present a dashboard using Tableau We have an incredible line up of speakers and instructors, it's gearing up to be a fun learning and networking event. We also have a lovely tech recruiter coming in to speak to you about resumes, skills and any other questions you may have about entering the tech industry. PrerequisitesThis workshop covers the foundations of data analytics and is designed for beginners in the data field. There are no formal prerequisites to taking this course, but please check the agenda before registering to make sure that it meets your requirements. No prior knowledge of analytics or programming skills is needed, we'll start with the foundations. The event is for women only, although non-women interested in supporting and helping out should also contact the organisers. SheLovesData is dedicated to addressing the gender imbalance in the data and tech field!   Speakers Nadya Ichinomiya  Nadya serves as an Executive Director at Sony Pictures in the role of Enterprise Agile Coach, working with tech teams to improve their responsiveness in an industry tackling vast amounts of disruption. After starting her career at IBM in sales and management, at age 27, she became Vice President of Electronic Data Systems (now HP) in Frankfurt as the highest-ranking woman in the region and youngest VP, with a $33M P&L and a team of 150 people. From computer screens to movie screens, Nadya changed course and rebooted her career as a Hollywood producer. After five years working with Bonnie Hunt in both movies and TV (as a producer on ABC’s Life With Bonnie,) she returned to the corporate world in TV Distribution at MGM. First, as a business analyst at Sony Pictures, she moved in project management, finally acting as product owner leading teams creating world-class mobile apps and websites. Five years ago, Nadya co-founded Women In Technology: Hollywood, a cross-media & entertainment initiative with 2400+ members from the major studios. In October 2017, Nadya launched "Solve 4 Equality by 2025 in Hollywood & Technology” as CEO/Founder.   Cynthia Trotta Attracting non-traditional talent to seemingly overwhelming tech careers is Cynthia’s mission. An English major who has spent the bulk of her career in IT and a first-gen professional coaching hundreds of job seekers, Cynthia has the ability to bring focus and clarity in the midst of information overload and draws on personal experience to make her presentations relevant and authentic. In her current role as Mendix University Program Success Manager, Cynthia shares an award-winning low-code tool and curriculum with universities seeking ways to close the IT skills gap.   Margo Hohsfield    After graduating with a BA in Anthropology from the University of Colorado at Boulder, Margo relocated to California in 2014. Since then she has worked in the recruitment business, starting out in Education and transitioning to technology. As a senior Consultant in Cyber Security at Stott and May, Margo has helped build out and enhance the security functions at a variety of organisations. Other accomplishments include spearheading a GroWIT (Growing Women in Tech) initiative in Los Angeles and serving as a founding board member for WiCyS – SoCal Affiliate. Together with her recruitment and diversity initiatives, she is committed to empowering women and diversifying the tech industry.   Raffi Simonian Raffi Simonian is an accomplished technology and business professional with an Executive MBA and more than 25 years of experience in bringing cutting edge technology and business solutions to startups as well as established organisations. Has managed more than 65 large-scale projects and has launched more than 20 different products from enterprise to online solutions. A strategic thinker with strong management skills and emphasis on building teams and relationships; communicating effectively; driving results; inspiring creativity and innovation; championing change and exhibiting professional excellence.   Shibani Rai Shibani is a Business Analyst/Consultant and has provided analytical solutions to a diverse range of organisations. With a Bachelor of Engineering and Master of Business Information Systems, Shibani is actively involved in improving gender diversity in the data analytics field.
